Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Festival 2023.
The Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Festival’s inaugural staging was held in March 2018, with the Saturday event being at the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Newcastle military training camp in the Blue & John Crow Mountains National Park (BJCMNP).
The Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica, Sir William Maynard Gomm, established the barracks at Newcastle in 1841. In 1962, when Jamaica gained independence, the barracks at Newcastle were given to the JDF, who still use the facility as a training ground. The Blue & John Crow Mountain National Park, where Newcastle is located, was subsequently established in 1992.
